Miss Harriet H. Masterson
Whitney Studio Galleries
New York.
Dear Miss Masterson:
Your letter just received in regard to the discrepancy in prices and titles between two of my paintings which you have received.
The canvas marked "Early Autumn" is the "Autumn Mountains" of my list and will be priced $400.00.
The canvas marked "Autumn Hills" is the "Landscape--Arroyo Seco" of my list and will be priced $300.00.
The canvas called "Taos Signs" will reach you shipped direct from Pittsburgh and regardless of what price may be marked on the back of the canvas it will be priced $400.00.
In addition to these canvases which you have already received, I am sending one other large one-(canvas size 50 X 50) which will probably reach you about December 16. Please count on a space for this canvas and add the following title to my list:
"Girl in New Mexico"--- Price--$1500.00
In sending out the announcements for my show will you be so kind as to include the list of names and addresses here enclosed. Also please keep about twenty five of the announcements and envelopes for me to address when I reach New York.
I will write to Mr. Peter Juley of New York to make some photographs of a few of my paintings to have in readiness for the press. Please allow him access to my paintings for this purpose.
I plan to arrive in New York on December 29.
Very truly yours,
[signed]Ward Lockwood
