Description--Front	View of Lockport, N.Y. looking down the staircase lock. Locktenders in laborer's clothes lean on the balance beam and small groups of men in variety of dress including suits and straw boaters gather on the pedestrian bridges to look down the row of locks. The nearest pedestrian bridge has the number "70" on it, possibly the lock number. The men and the lock in forground are close enough to see details in the men's dress and the lock's gates. Buildings, presumably industrial, are visible in the town above the locks and distantly along the canal. One building displays a sign, "A.J. RUDNICK." Approximately half of a steel open spandrel deck arch bridge is visible extending over the locks. Printing information: card number (1035).
