Description--Front	This sepia postcard features construction of a new lock on the barge canal in Baldwinsville, N.Y. Locks are devices that raise and lower boats between stretches of water to accommodate for elevation increases. The right side of the postcard features construction workers, buildings and hoisting machinery. The background of the postcard features barren trees, utility poles and a bridge. The left side of the postcard shows four workers carrying an unidentified object.
